10 Ways of

Lighting- Optical Fiber Lighting

In the era of traditional lighting, due to the large amount of heat generated by halogen lamps, for precious cultural relics, especially for heat-sensitive exhibits. It is more troublesome to solve the heating of the lamp itself and the infrared radiation in the illumination. In this case, fiber optic lighting comes into being.

Its principle is to configure a light generator at the far end of the display cabinet, and then guide the light to the required place through the optical fiber conduit.

In this way, the photothermal separation is completely realized. Because the light of the light source is generally filtered before entering the optical fiber, the harmful light can be filtered out, and only the useful visible light reaches the exhibits.

Although it perfectly solves the problem of photothermal separation, it has the following disadvantages:

High cost, including light source, reflector, color filter and optical fiber, which is the highest cost lighting device in all lighting lamps;

The overall shape is large, and the optical fiber is relatively thick, so it is not easy to hide ;

The luminous flux is small, so it is not suitable for large area lighting ;

It is difficult to control the beam angle, especially the small beam angle. However, because the light from the optical fiber head is harmless, it can be very close to the exhibits.

Since the

lighting entered the LED era, the display cabinet lamp has been replaced first.

Because its advantages are very obvious:

Small size ( diameter 2-4 CM);

Low wattage (1-5 W);

Low calorific value, no infrared and ultraviolet radiation.
