<p>In 2001 while working in IT for a Mexico Insurance agency in San Diego I saw first-hand the potential marriage between e-commerce and tourist insurance. I saw a need, a customer need for quality insurance from a trusted provider. I also saw the expense involved in operating a brick-and-mortar operation. I knew that if we could put together a world-class insurance package on a state-of-the-art e-commerce storefront we would have clients lining up.  As it turns out, due to the lower-overhead of the e-commerce operation we were able to undercut our competitors by nearly 30% on premiums and fees.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">2. How did you finance it?</span></p>
<p>Self-financed with personal savings.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">3. What is the biggest challenge your business has faced and how did you manage it?</span></p>
<p>Two challenges we face in our industry is the rapidly changing technology and security requirements, and meeting the diverse needs of our clients. Managing the technology challenges I employ solid Project Management principles and hire the best technical resources I can find.  As for the needs of our clients, we employ the most personable person we could find to handle all clients matters.   Due to the nature of our business we are able to react quickly to changing demands.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">4. What sets you apart from your competition?</span></p>
<p>Our technology and the rates.  We specialize and stay focused on tourist auto insurance.  In doing this, we have become very efficient at offering insurance for Mexico at the best rates.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">5. Where would you like to see your business headed in the future?</span></p>
<p>I think we&#8217;re headed in the right direction.  Every day we add a new, happy client.  Our goal is to serve clients, and make things better every day.  We will continue to do that, one client at a time.</p>

<p>Do you think giveaways are a waste of money? You better think that twice. A very interesting study from the Advertising Specialty Institute offers  information regarding the value of promotional products. A team of interviewers surveyed 465 businesspeople in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia on behalf of ASI regarding promotional products they had received. There were 213 completed Web based interviews, for a total of 678 completed surveys for this study.</p>
<p>Respondents were asked if they had received any promotional products in the last 12 months. Most respondents were business/professional people (84%) and all were age 21 or older.</p>
<p><span id="more-744"></span><strong>Summary of Conclusions:</strong></p>
<p>• Instant recall: More than 8 out of 10 (84%) respondents remembered the advertisers of the promotional products they’re received.</p>
<p>• Very impressionable: 42% of respondents had a MORE favorable impression of an advertiser after receiving the item. And nearly a quarter (24%) said they are MORE likely to do business with the advertiser on the items they receive.</p>
<p>• It’s all business: Most respondents (62%) have done business with the advertiser on a promotional product after receiving the item.</p>
<p>• Pens are in: Writing instruments are the most-recalled advertising specialty items (54% of respondents recall owning them), followed by shirts, caps and bags.</p>
<p>• User-friendly: The majority (81%) of promotional products were kept because they were considered useful.</p>
<p>• Staying power: More than three-quarters of respondents have had their items for more than 6 months.</p>
<p>• Bag it!: Among wearables, bags were reported to be used most frequently with respondents indicating that they used their bags an average of 9 times per month. They also deliver the most impressions: Each bag averages 1,038 impressions per month.</p>
<p>• Most impressive: The average CPI of an advertising specialty item is $0.004; as a result, marketers get a more favorable return on investment from advertising specialties than nearly any other popular advertising media.</p>

<p>SAN DIEGO, Dec. 10 &#8212; The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce (HISCEC) has joined forces with the Green Technology Alliance (GTA) to promote the increased adoption of sustainable business practices.</p>
<p>&#8220;The GTA is focused on supporting all who desire to gain exposure for their emerging green, clean and sustainable technologies as well as those that wish to operate more efficiently,&#8221; Michelle Naquin, GTA CEO, said. &#8220;The GTA is proud to partner with HISCEC. The real benefit of the HISCEC approach is the resources they offer to help Hispanic businesses be successful.&#8221;</p>
<p>This strategic partnership will ensure even more resources for HISCEC Hispanic business and Hispanic entrepreneur members. The HISCEC will utilize GTA&#8217;s network and expertise to provide additional opportunities for members to leverage green techniques, such as e-commerce and technology usage, into enhanced business success.</p>
<p><span id="more-737"></span>&#8220;The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce has partnered with the Green Technology Alliance to support Hispanic-owned businesses committed to incorporating sustainable economic development strategies as part of their business models,&#8221; Tayde Aburto, HISCEC President and Marketing Director, said.</p>
<p>The GTA will participate in the HISCEC´s Business and Technology Expo on September 10 &amp; 11, 2010 at the San Diego Convention Center as guest speakers. GTA representatives will educate attendees on green solutions that enhance reduced costs, improved efficiency and greater productivity.<br />

<p>If you are planning to exhibit at the San Diego Hispanic Business Showcase you need to keep into consideration taht Who you have in your booth can have a major effect on the success of the show. <p>The key to preparation is to ensure that all people who man the booth represent your company as professionally as possible.  To do this, proper pre-show planning is required to guarantee that everyone knows what to say and more importantly what not to say. Keep in mind that your competition may be “checking you out.”</p>

• What products/services do you provide?<br />
• What makes you different from your competition?</p>
